Running Streak Challenge Day 048 - 7/4/2014 16.03 Miles Mission Bay and Pacific Beach San Diego, Ca My buddy Lee and I started our morning run at 6:15am. We got an early start for two reasons. First, we knew that the July 4th beach goers would completely take over the sidewalks and paths we wanted to run on. Second, it was going to be a hot day. Mid 80’s. We wanted to get in most of our run before the marine layer thinned out and exposed that sun. By mile 3, we got to De Anza cover at Mission Bay and we were surprised to see hundreds of tents lined along all of Mission Bay. The people either got up at the butt crack of dawn to set these tents up, or they stayed overnight. I’m not sure, but it was crowded at 6:30am. It wasn’t too bad yet. The sidewalks were crowded with kids and adults not looking where they were going, but we got through it without a hitch. Good thing we started early. We looped around Fiesta Island, then passed Sea World, Crown Point, then back to the boardwalk. We ended our run at exactly 16 miles. It was another good run with a good friend. Perfect way to start the day. Happy Independence Day!! by randyfleet
