Small Miracles 3 years ago I was asked to run a relay race who’s captain was not able to run because of a failing kidney. Because I was invited by acquaintances, I did not know the captain or have a chance to meet him. It did not change the fact that I was excited to run on his team, and dedicate the race to him. During every mile of the 200-mile relay, I kept wishing there was more that I could do. Could we turn this race into a way to raise money for fighting disease? From this experience, and also from trying to raise awareness for my wife’s Crohn’s Disease, the idea to create Race With Reason was born. 3 years later, our company was finally launched. People all over the world are now participating. This last week, as I was commenting on #racewithreason hashtags, I came across the post featured above. One of our racers was celebrating the one-year anniversary of a kidney transplant. The name looked familiar. I recognized his last name and noticed he was racing for kidney disease. Could this be the same person that helped inspire the idea of Race With Reason? Our Racers are world wide with only a few local participants, but it was possible. I did not know what he looked like, I only knew him by name. I decided to ask if he was the same person I had ran for 3 year ago. It was!! It was a small miracle. The same person, who help inspire the idea of Race With Reason had someone found us and was participating, to raise awareness for his reason. See his story @sandbwynn by racewithreason
